I am a mother of 4, 3 of whom are in college. I was working at a job without benefits at the time of my sons medical expenses. About 1 1/2 years ago during wrestling practice, he broke his knee at the growth plate. No surgery was required at that time (No insurance)was making a good dent in the medical bills and the following Spring he broke his wrist at the growth plate slide into home plate during a ball game (no insurance) was making payments on that. This last Fall he had to have reconstructive surgery on his knee after a football injury. We had bought a policy on him only to find out that it did not cover much of the expenses. Needless to say we are left with around $18,000 in medical bills I am trying to figure out how to pay for and to keep our other three kids attending college. Any advice or support would be appreciated. I now have a job with insurance but had to take a cut in pay for the new job but at least if anymore unexpected medical bill happen they won't be so overwhelming.
